38 Weeks Pregnant Bumpdate
/Helloooooo 9 month of pregnancy (and swollen feet)!! We’re in the home stretch.
Odds are that you may be reading this while we’re in labor! We’re scheduled for an appointment with our doctor at 38 weeks, 6 days to see how I’m progressing. For the last two weeks I’ve been dilated 1 CM and we’ve agreed with our doctor to induce if I have not progressed any. So chances are….. we’re inducing TONIGHT! (6/20/19)
Baby is growing a little bigger than average and this mama (and Calvin) is ready to meet him or her. Our doctor recommended we induce due to baby’s growing size and since I’ve been at 1 CM for 3 weeks. We’re so excited to meet baby really soon and appreciate your prayers!!
Since the last bumpdate, we have had such incredible love, help, and support from friends, family and readers. Baby has been showered, not once, but twice! We’re grateful for every gift and every person that helped us celebrate the coming of baby Williams.
We’ve also completed the nursery! Of course, I’ll want to keep adding to it and sprucing it up, but for the most part all necessities we have and I’m so thrilled as to how it turned out! Now let’s get to the other details…
38/39 WEEKS BUMPDATE:
How are you feeling? I go back and forth between extreme fatigue and spurts of energy to nest and nest and nest! My feet and ankles have also been rather swollen, so that also dictates whether that day I’m up and nesting or horizontal and resting!
How big is the baby now? At 38 weeks, baby is the size of a watermelon. (Though I joke and say he/she is the size of a toddler, because it sure feels like it!)
Do you have names? The closer we get, the more we get this question! And the answer is… yes! However, you guessed it, we’re keeping the gender (which Calvin and I also don’t know) and the names a surprise until baby arrives and we can proudly announce both to you! Thanks for your patience. ;)
Where are you registered? We are registered at Target, buybuy BABY and Amazon! BIG THANK YOU to those of you reading and following online who been asking me about registries. Which… IS JUST THE SWEETEST! :) If you would like to gift baby Williams anything, all 3 registries will ship directly to our home address. And thank you in advance!
Current baby movements? Per our last doctor’s appointment, baby is still head down. I’m feeling more turns and shifts with few kicks thrown in here and there. The most noticeable to me is where baby’s bottom rests and the leg or knees jabbing me in the ribs from time to time.
What are you currently craving? The craving for ice and cold things like popsicles and ice cream continues. But now, so does the craving for cereal. I have a bowl or two a day!
What symptoms are you experiencing? I’m still very emotional these days. Especially as I near the end of pregnancy. Braxton Hicks are continuing and a lot more frequent. Sciatic nerve pain on my right side comes and goes. The latest has been my PUPPPS flaring up! I’m extremely itchy and rashes have appeared where stretch marks are. It’s tough. Especially at night.
Favorite part of these past few weeks?
B A B Y S H O W E R S ! !
Baby Williams has been spoiled rotten already by our family and friends. Our community in Katy threw us a wonderful shower mid-May, hosted at my friend Ashley’s beautiful home in Katy, and put together by ladies I’ve worked with in Katy and some whom Calvin and I have gotten to know and love through our church plant!
Early June, my best friends, sister, and moms helped put together another shower, this one being in Houston! Out of town friends and family also attended as we ate delicious Mexican food, played games, and ooo’d and aww’d at baby’s presents! My dear friend Carolyn Marie took pictures of the shower. Can’t wait to share more with you all in a later recap post. [All photos below by https://www.cmphotostudio.com.]
To say we have felt extremely loved and supported is an understatement. I can’t thank these ladies enough!
I can’t promise you there will be another bumpdate. It feels like the end of my pregnancy is quickly approaching. With that said, I greatly appreciate you reading each bumpdate and going on this journey with me. (See all of them at the end of this post.)
Now we continue to wait for our sweet baby to arrive. Calvin and I have truly enjoyed every part of this journey, even the harder parts. We’re beyond blessed and ready to hold our sweet one. Thanks for reading and supporting us through your encouragement and prayers during this journey!
Any tips for these two parents to be? Let us know in a comment below!
Until next time,
- Crystal
